Overview

We are looking for a Citrix engineer, who is a motivated, self-starter that can assist with our virtual desktop infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be proficient in supporting both physical and virtual end-user desktop environments through innovative solutions. Demonstrates a strong drive to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution. Possesses a keen awareness of emerging technologies that align within our organization. Proactively identifies opportunities for streamlining processes, adding value, and elevating the overall end-user experience. This position requires being present at our corporate downtown Chicago office three days per week.
 

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, security and integrity of computer operating systems and supporting software
  • Will engage in interactive collaboration with personnel at all organizational levels
  • Engage with customers by collaborating through phone, email, messaging, and video conferencing for developing innovative ideas.
  • Communicate effectively with customers as committed, impressing customers with the ability to deliver resolution or status according to that commitment
  • Analyze the experiences of a user and implement solutions that consistently improve user experience
  • Write scripts using PowerShell to automate tasks and extract information from the infrastructure
  • Build VDI images for general use
  • Build VDI images for specific teams and use cases
  • Migrate users to new platforms
  • Create Documentation for delivery

Knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be an adaptable self-starter and work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to juggle multiple projects and organize time effectively
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must keep up to date on current technology trends

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Experience working with large-scale infrastructure environments
  • Basic understanding of scripting using PowerShell
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10 & 11
  • Basic understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, TCP/IP, DNS, Firewalls, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Preferred:

  • Experience with Windows management tools such as SCCM and Workspace ONE
  • Experience with Service NOW incidents and requests
  • Working knowledge of certificate management process
  • Experience with tools such as Director, Citrix Studio, and Venafi
  • Familiarity with SysTrack or other monitoring tools

Experience

  • 5+ years of Citrix Virtual Apps or Desktop experience
  • Previous experience in a leadership role is a plus
